Plate diameter is 8.5”
This stunningly beautiful hand painted Limoges plate has peach and rose colored flowers with quite a bit of raised gold accents throughout.
The edge of the plate also features a gold rim with more decorative gold designs. Blakeman & Henderson were not manufacturers or decorators of porcelain, but rather were importers in New York City of high quality decorated porcelain exclusively from Limoges, France. They operated in the 1890-1912 era. The B&H exporter’s mark on this plate was used around 1890 according to Infofaience.com. Mary Frank Gaston in her book, Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, 3rd Edition, states “Porcelain carrying the Blakeman & Henderson marks is always superbly decorated.”
