【Story】

Summer vacation. Yuta, a fifth-grader, is sent to Kawaguchi and Onomichi to watch over his senile grandfather. Kenjiro, his grandfather, does indeed seem a little strange, but for some reason, he takes actions that make a certain kind of sense. Soon, changes begin to come over Yuta as well, and he begins to have strange experiences...

This film is a commemorative work for the 100th anniversary of Onomichi's municipal status and the final installment of Nobuhiko Obayashi's new Onomichi trilogy. Through the interaction between a boy and his grandfather, this nostalgic and moving fantasy brings back the forgotten "that summer day." Along with the veteran actors Keiju Kobayashi and Kin Sugai, fresh faces such as Takuro Atsugi from "Manuke Sensei," Kanae Katsuno from "The Twilight Hotel of the Calico Cat Holmes," and Nana Sano, whose debut film this was, shine with energetic performances in the cinematic microcosm of Onomichi.
